Aidan is currently part of the Defence team representing Abdallah Banda and Saleh Jerbo, who have been charged with war crimes at the International Criminal Court, in what is likely to be the first case arising out of the situation in Sudan to come to trial.

At the same time he maintains a varied civil practice. Aidan has particular expertise in handling credit hire cases. His text book "Kevan and Ellis on Credit Hire" was published in April 2008 and remains the leading work on the subject. He is frequently instructed in all aspects of personal injury litigation including inquests. He accepts work on conditional fee agreements.

He has experience of Inquiries, having been instructed by the Ministry of Defence on both the Baha Mousa Public Inquiry and the Nimrod Review. He was also involved in conducting the disclosure exercise in the Guantanamo Bay Damages Claims.

Aidan also supervises in Constitutional Law for three colleges at Cambridge University.
