Profile
Julia is delighted to have returned to Temple Gardens in 2012,
having previously had a busy practice in chambers in her early
years at the Bar. She rejoins chambers following a successful
career with the Government Legal Service, during which she was
closely involved in a number of ground-breaking cases in the
domestic courts and the CJEU. She has substantial expertise in EU
and public law and in the fields of health care, medicines and
medical devices regulation and social security.
Julia is re-establishing her practice in other areas of
chambers' work, including personal injury and property damage. She
has a particular interest in insurance fraud, including staged
accidents, exaggerated claims and low velocity impacts. Julia has
acted in a number of sensitive inquests and as an employed
barrister was involved in advising on the Article 2 investigative
obligation. Her in-depth knowledge and understanding of the health
sector is particularly useful in litigation involving NHS or other
health bodies.
Julia has a working knowledge of both German and French.
