Lionel Stride

Profile

Lionel has a successful and varied common law practice acting for both claimants and insurers. He has considerable expertise in the fields of personal injury (including employers' liability, industrial disease claims and coronial work) and insurance law (encompassing credit hire, insurance fraud, product and professional liability), regularly conducting cases at fast and multi track level.  This experience has helped him to develop a niche advisory practice covering both RTA insurance and MIB issues.

Lionel's employment law practice covers all aspects of discrimination, unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, TUPE, restraint of trade and breach of contract, with additional expertise in prison and civil service claims. He appears regularly in Employment Tribunals across the country in contested hearings, case management discussions and pre-hearing reviews and presents seminars and talks on employment law. He has a varied client base, ranging from individuals and small businesses through private care homes and hospitals, government departments and multi-national companies. Lionel is also a frequent contributor to Daniel Barnett's Employment Law Bulletin.

As a result of considerable exposure in the early years of tenancy, Lionel is building an extensive costs practice incorporating detailed assessments at the SCCO, appeals, CFA technical challenges and drafting CFAs/documents relating to compliance, as well as general points of dispute. He also accepts instructions in related professional negligence claims against solicitors and/or barristers.

Lionel is bilingual and accepts instructions containing documentation in French.
