Philip Astor's practice has developed from being predominantly personal injury based to include discrimination and unfair dismissal cases and a broad range of costs related litigation. He has represented the MOD, MAFF and other Government departments; the Metropolitan Police; health care Trusts; private and union funded Claimants; insurance companies and other Defendants. He has regularly sat as a Legal Assessor in Conduct and Competence cases for the Nursing & Midwifery Council.  Besides advising panel members on the relevant law, he was noted for the sensitive way he assisted unrepresented registrants during the course of regulatory hearings.

Education

Educated at Eton College, where he was Captain of the School (1972-1977). Scholar at Christ Church, Oxford, where he graduated in Classics and Philosophy (1982). Diploma in law from the City University (1988). Bar vocational course at the Inns of Court School of Law (1989).
