Philip Astor's practice has developed from being predominantly
personal injury based to include discrimination and unfair
dismissal cases and a broad range of costs related litigation. He
has represented the MOD, MAFF and other Government departments; the
Metropolitan Police; health care Trusts; private and union funded
Claimants; insurance companies and other Defendants. He has
regularly sat as a Legal Assessor in Conduct and Competence cases
for the Nursing & Midwifery Council. Besides advising
panel members on the relevant law, he was noted for the sensitive
way he assisted unrepresented registrants during the course of
regulatory hearings.
