Employment Appeal Tribunal - Clarity of Disciplinary Charges
14 September 2010
The Employment Appeal Tribunal has held, in Celebi v Compass, that disciplinary charges against employees must be carefully framed so that the employee knows exactly what allegations she faces.
It held it is insufficient to describe charges of 'theft' of money as 'loss' of money, even where the employee knew she was being accused of theft.
