Chambers finally recorded victory over Stewarts on the football pitch at the third time of asking. Playing each other in an 11-a-side match for the first time TGC showed strength in depth with an impressive all-round performance against a depleted Stewarts' team who were forced by a combination of late arrivals, injury and impending appearances on Radio 4, to play throughout with only 10 men. Commanding performances at the back from Blackburn and in the centre (Carter) allowed TGC to take control of proceedings. Numerical advantage eventually told with a spectacular volleyed goal in the first half from Adamson and a late second by Johnson securing an ultimately comfortable victory.
